Hello, I'm Liz. I'm a PhD student at the University of Manchester researching how things are moved around inside cells. I'm about to go into my fourth and final year, so I'm doing my last stretch of lab work and mentally preparing to start writing my thesis - a mildly terrifying prospect!
I love talking and blogging about science so when the opportunity came up to get involved in the x-change I jumped at it. I'm really looking forward to being immersed in the British Science Festival and seeing all the cool stuff that's going on. We'll be pretty busy having loads of fun editing and blogging for the x-change but in between that I'm hoping to see a few of the talks and performances. It's difficult to pick one out in particular but I guess if I had to it would be 'Festival of the Spoken Nerd' because science + comedy + music is always a winning combination.
I met most of the people working on the x-change a couple of weeks ago and it's a great team so it's going to be fantastic getting stuck in and having an awesome time on the x-change together. Hopefully we'll see you at the Festival in a couple of weeks (we're the ones in the snazzy pink tees) ut it not this is the place to come for our blog entries and - of course - the x-change podcast.
