Hi,
I’m Marcus and I’m a biochemist! I am doing a PhD, trying to understand how our cells deal with DNA damage. Whilst I like doing bench work, I really enjoy talking about new and interesting science, usually with my non-science friends in the pub.
I discovered the x-change podcasts last year. I loved the idea that the best bits of the festival could be summed up at the end of the day, allowing those of us stuck in the lab to feel like we really were at the festival!
The festival line-up this year looks amazing with stellar guests such as Brian Cox, Maggie Aderin-Pocok and Sir Paul Nurse. Add on top of that hundreds of talks, debates, workshops and demonstrations and there is too much to choose from!
I’m really looking forward to the Friday x-change program; there is a lot on at the festival that day all about food. I’m hoping to pick up some scientific tips to help me improve my awful cooking!
Not long to the festival now, looking forward to seeing you all there.
